McCune, Palko Inducted Into NFF National Honor Society

LORETTO, Pa. (May 10, 2007) – Saint Francis senior football players Sean McCune (Everett / Everett, Pa.) and Luke Palko (Imperial, Pa. / West Allegheny) have been inducted into the inaugural class of the National Football Foundation’s National Honor Society in recognition of their outstanding accomplishments in the classroom and on the playing field.

For 60 years, the National Football Foundation has honored the best and brightest that intercollegiate football has to offer. McCune and Palko are among 348 players from 195 schools that make up this inaugural class.

McCune lettered for four seasons with the Red Flash following a tour of duty in the U.S. Navy. He posted 99 tackles, including 14 for loss, with one sack, four pass deflections, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery during his career. Four of his 25 tackles in 2006 were for loss.

Palko is awarded his second National Football Foundation award of the school year. He was named one of 17 collegiate football players from across all levels of NCAA and NAIA as a 2006 National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame National Scholar Athlete. On the field, Palko finished his football career second on the Saint Francis and Northeast Conference all-time receptions list. He was the first player in school and conference history to 200 career catches.
