Three Red Flash Football Players Announced as Participants in 2006 East Coast Bowl

LORETTO, Pa. (Nov. 20, 2006) – Three Saint Francis University senior football players have been selected to play in the 2006 East Coast Bowl, which features 75 of the best Division I-AA, II, III and NAIA seniors from a multitude of different schools and regions.

The East Coast Bowl is scheduled for a Noon kickoff on Saturday, and will be played at historic Cameron Field in Petersburg, Va. The game is co-sponsored by the city of Petersburg, and the National Football Foundation/College Hall of Fame, and all revenue generated is used to award a scholarship for a high school senior who plans to play football on the Division I-AA, II or III level.

Red Flash wide receiver Michael Caputo (Bethel Park, Pa. / Seton LaSalle), quarterback Anthony Doria (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Seton LaSalle) and offensive lineman Bill Holter (Elkton, Md. / Northeast) have been chosen from a lengthy list of collegiate players to participate in this year’s game.

“We are very excited for these three players to get at least one more game to play in this season,” said Saint Francis head coach Dave Opfar. “They have worked extremely hard throughout their careers, and this will be a great experience for them.”

The East Coast Bowl is an annual college all-star football game played the Saturday following Thanksgiving in Petersburg, Va. Aside from having the opportunity to showcase their ability in front of professional scouts, players will also do inspirational visits to community centers, hospitals and convalescent centers.
