Flash Men’s Golf Stands In Ninth Place After Day 1 at Navy Fall Classic
ANAPOLIS, Md. (Sept. 8, 2007) – Sophomore Mike Magalski fired a 36-39-75 to lead the Saint Francis men’s golf team to a ninth place showing after Day 1 of the Navy Fall Classic on Saturday.
Magalski is tied for 18th as the Red Flash carded a 311 on the first day of their first event of the 2007-08 season.
Freshman Joey Amelia shot a 40-36-76 and sits in a tie for 25th in the first event of his collegiate career, while senior Matt Gowdy is 54th (39-40-79), senior Steve Foisy is 67th (41-40-81) and sophomore Patrick Finlan is 83rd (43-43-86).
North Carolina State leads after Day 1 after carding a 279. Delaware is second (296), Seton Hall is third (297), Maryland is fourth (301), and North Dakota State is fifth (302).
The second and final day of the Navy Fall Classic will take place at 8 a.m. on Sunday.
