SFU Finishes 11th in 17 Team Field at Navy Fall Invitational
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (Sept. 9, 2007) – The Saint Francis men’s golf team improved by eight strokes over its Day 1 scored, but dropped to 11th in the team standings to finish play at the 2007 Navy Fall Invitational, which was played at the par-71, 6,528-yard Naval Academy Golf Course.
Sophomore Mike Magalski paced the Red Flash by tying for 17th with a two-round 75-74-149. SFU finished with a two-day 311-303-614 total, just four strokes off an eight-place finish in the 17-team field.
North Carolina State cruised to the team title with a 279-287-566, Navy had the high score on the day with a 286 to finish second with a two-round total of 589. Delaware took third (296-294-590), Maryland was fourth (301-294-595), and Seton Hall was fifth (297-301-598).
Senior Matt Gowdy finished 39th (79-75-154), freshman Joey Amelia took 46th (76-79-155), senior Steve Foisy was 52nd (81-75-156), and sophomore Patrick Finlan finished 84th (86-87-173).
