Red Flash close weekend with 5-0 loss at Holy Cross
WORCHESTER, Mass. (Sept. 9, 2007) – The Saint Francis University field hockey team closed their weekend with a 5-0 loss at the hands of Holy Cross on Sunday, dropping the Red Flash to 0-4 on a rainy afternoon in Worchester, Mass.
The Saint Francis offense managed only five shots on the afternoon, with two of them coming off the stick of promising freshman Erin Davis (Fort Worth, Texas/All Saints Episcopal). Both of Davis’ shots were on goal. Sophomore Allison Severage (Garwood, N.J./Arthur L. Johnson)also posted a shot on goal for the Flash.
Goalkeeper Erin Reifsteck (Battle Creek, Mich./Saint Phillip) made 12 saves in net for the Red Flash. Despite allowing five goals, the junior keeper raised her career saves total to 263 -- just 18 shy of tying Kristen Onto’s program record.
Saint Francis returns to action on Tuesday when they host Lehigh at 7 p.m.
