SFU Men’s Golf in 13th After Day 1 of Leo Keenan Invitational
OLEAN, N.Y. (Sept. 23, 2007) – Senior Steve Foisy (Repentigny, Quebec / Academie Les Estacades) fired a first round 38-39-77 on Sunday afternoon to lead the Saint Francis men’s golf team to a 13th-place tally after Day 1 of the St. Bonaventure Leo Keenan Invitational, which is being held at the Bartlett Country Club.
The Red Flash carded a 316 as a team. Rider leads the event after a first-round 288, Duquesne (289) is second, Long Island (294) is third, Ottawa (295) is fourth, and St. Bonaventure (297) is fifth.
Senior Matt Gowdy (London, Ontario / A.B. Lucas) shot a 40-38-78, and is in 50th, sophomore Mike Magalski (Spring Grove, Pa. / Spring Grove) is in 55th after a first-round 79, sophomore Daniel Honchar (Dubois, Pa. / Dubois) is in 65th after firing an 82, and freshman Joey Amelia is in 67th with an 83.
The second and final day of the event will be played on Monday.
