Milosh Inks an 86 to Pace Saint Francis in Round One

Piscataway, N.J. (October 12, 2007) – The Red Flash women’s golf team is currently in 16th place after round one of competition at the Rutgers Invitational, held at the Rutgers Golf Course.  The early morning rain delay may have deducted some of the focus from the ladies during Friday’s first 18 holes.

Senior Samantha Milosh (Aliquippa, Pa./Center) led the way for Saint Francis by posting an 87 (47-40); placing her tied for 39th after round one.  Senior Stephanie Switzer (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) carded SFU’s second best score of the round by charting a 91 (50-41), knotting her at 68th place with two ladies from Fairleigh Dickinson and Monmouth.  Sophomore Lisa Kocin (Parma, Ohio / Padua Franciscan) inked a 93 (49-44) for a tie at 74th place and Caryn Doege (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) shot a 94 (48-46) on her 18 hole adventure for a tie at 77th place.  Newcomer Kaitlin Hensal (Seville, Ohio/Wadsworth) made a 98 (51-47) for a tie at 87th.

Bethune-Cookman College sits atop the pile of 20 schools after round one with a 318 team total. Yale University and Siena College are in second and third place, shooting team totals of 329 and 331, respectively.

The Rutgers Invitational concludes tomorrow on Saturday, Oct. 13, with tee times starting at 8 a.m.  The Red Flash look to move up the charts in the second round before they compete in the 3rd Annual Mount Saint Mary's University Fall Classic at
Quail Valley Golf Course in Littlestown, Pa. on Friday, Oct. 19 and Saturday, Oct. 20.
