Red Flash Take 8th in Fall Finale at Mount Saint Mary’s Fall Classic

Littlestown, Pa. / Quail Valley Golf Course (October 20, 2007) – The Saint Francis men’s golf team shot a team total of 312 in the final 18 holes round of the Mount Saint Mary’s Fall Classic at  the Quail Valley Golf Course, adding to their previous total of 302 to earn themselves an eighth place finish with a team sum of 614.

Host team Mount Saint Mary’s kept the title within their parameters by shooting an eclectic two-day total of 590.  Temple University fell five strokes short for second place and Hofstra University took third at 596.

Sophomore Michael Magalski (Spring Grove, Pa. / Spring Grove) made the low round on Saturday’s 8:30am shotgun start by turning in a 73, netting him T-15th (150) overall for the tournament.  Senior Matt Gowdy (London, Ontario / A.B. Lucas) played well, too, by carding a 75, pushing his two-day total to 148, good enough for T-6th individually.

Steve Foisy (Repentigny, Quebec / Academie Les Estacades) inked a 78, for a two total of 152, putting him in a tie for 24th.  Sophomore Patrick Finlan (London, Ontario/London Central) turned in an effort of 86, for a two-day total of 165 and sophomore Aaron Osysho (Parma, Ohio/Padua Franciscan) netted a 91 for a two-day culmination 169.

This weekend’s 36-hole festival concludes the Red Flash’s fall schedule.  Saint Francis will try and improve upon their fall record come spring time, trying to recapture their 2006 NEC title.
