Saint Francis Stays Even with the 15th Ranked Quinnipiac Bobcats to Maintain their Hold on First Place in the NEC

Hamden, Conn. (10/21/07) – Saint Francis University, tied for first place in the Northeast Conference with Monmouth, took on unbeaten, 15th ranked Quinnipiac for their sixth conference tilt of the 2007 season.  With the 1-1 draw, Saint Francis moves to 6-6-2 in conference play.

The Red Flash outshot the Bobcats 16 to 14, yet Quinnipiac’s blasts found the target seven times, whereas Saint Francis found it for five shots on goal.

Saint Francis’ sole tally of the game came off the foot of senior Jarron Brooks (Mitchellville, Md./Archbishop Carroll) in the 85th minute when he took a rip at the cage from the left side of Quinnipiac’s goaltender Frederick Hall.  Brooks got help from junior defenseman Benjamin Kujawa (Jarrettsville, Md./North Harford).  The goal smoothed out the game to a 1-1 equal finish.  The tie against the nation’s 15th ranked team should prove to keep the Red Flash’s momentum going when they travel to Bucknell to take on the Bison at 7pm on Wednesday, October 24.  The game will be a non-conference contest.

Junior goaltender Brad Williams (San Lorenzo, Calif./Arroyo) earned six saves in 110:00 minutes of competition.
