Kosela named NEC swimmer of the week

LORETTO, Pa. (Oct. 30, 2007) -- Saint Francis University sophomore Blair Kosela (Crescent, Pa./Moon Area) was named Northeast Conference Swimmer of the Week on Tuesday for her efforts in Friday, Oct. 23’s third win of the season over Loyola.

Kosela lead the Red Flash to their second straight victory over Loyola-- who finished third at last season’s MAAC Championships. The Cresent, Pa. native placed first in the 50 and 100 free with times of 25.17 and 55.25 respectively.

Her 50 free time is the second fastest time swam in the NEC this season. She also swam the first leg of the Red Flash’s first place 400 free relay team, clinching a 136-126 win. The 400 medley relay team, which also featured Kosela, recorded the second fastest time in school history.
