LORETTO, Pa. (April 24, 2008) – A year after christening Father Bede Hines Track at DeGol Field, the Red Flash open returns to campus on Saturday, April 26, bigger and better than ever. Visitors to Loretto this weekend will find a greatly expanded field, featuring six complete teams, up from last year’s lineup of two (Bucknell and Saint Francis).
One thing Red Flash fans will hope to remain the same, however, is the home team’s dominance in Loretto. The Saint Francis University men’s track and field team won 10 events and the women’s team won nine events as the Red Flash put on a dominating show in the First Annual Red Flash Track & Field Open held last April.
Joining Saint Francis and Bucknell University this year will be California University (Pa.), Clarion University, Robert Morris University, and Slippery Rock University.
