Red Flash Sit in Seventh Place at 12-Team Colgate Invitational After Day 1
HAMILTON, N.Y. (Sept. 20, 2008) – Freshman Adam Simpson (London, Ontario, Canada / Oakridge Secondary School) paced the Saint Francis men’s golf team on the first day of the Colgate Invitational by firing a 3-over-par 75, good for ninth place in the individual standings.
The Red Flash fired a first round 313, which puts them in seventh place in the 12-team race. Binghamton is in the lead with 302, Bucknell (303) is second, Lafayette (308) is third, Lehigh (309) is fourth and Colgate (312)and Laval (312) are tied for fifth.
The final round of play resumes at 9 a.m. on Sunday.
Junior Mike Magalski (Spring Grove, Pa. / Spring Grove) is tied for 19th with a 78, freshman Joey Amelia (Chatham, Ontario, Canada / Chatham-Kent Secondary) is in 23rd with a 79, freshman Dylan Holwell (Calgary, Alberta, Canada / The Edge School For Athletes) is 32nd with an 81, and freshman Ryan Coccagna (Chambersburg, Pa. / Chambersburg) is in 55th with an 86.
