Red Flash Finish Fifth in 12-Team Field at Colonial Classic
PITTSBURGH, Pa. (Oct. 14, 2008) – Junior Mike Magalski finished tied for 10th to lead the Saint Francis men’s golf team to a fifth-place finish in the 12-team field at the Holiday Inn Colonial Classic, which was played at Montour Heights Country Club.
Magalski carded a second round 75 to finish tied for 10th with a 77-75-152, while the Red Flash fired a very strong second round 301 to finish with a 319-301-620. SFU’s second round 301 was the second-best by any team in the field.
Clarion won the team title with a 302-299-601, IUPUI took second (303-301-604), Robert Morris was third (306-304-610), and Fairfield finished fourth (312-307-619).
Freshman Joey Amelia (Chatham, Ontario, Canada / Chatham-Kent Secondary) finished tied for 16th with a 79-75-154, freshmen Dylan Holwell (Calgary, Alberta, Canada / The Edge School for Athletes) and Vincent Adams (Boisbriand, Quebec, Canada / John Abbott College) tied for 23rd with 80-77-157 and 83-74-157, respectively, and freshman Adam Simpson (London, Ontario, Canada / Oakridge Secondary School) finished tied for 36th (83-77-160).
The Red Flash will be idle until their spring season begins.
