LORETTO, Pa. (October 24, 2008) - Saint Francis swimmer Jessica Dunn (Bristow, Va./Seton School) has been named the Northeast Conference Swimmer-of-the-Week for the week of October 21, as announced by the league on Tuesday. Dunn, a freshman, garnered the honor after taking first place in both of her events in the Red Flash’s win at Cleveland State on Oct. 18.
In only her first collegiate meet, Dunn placed first in the 200 yard individual medley with a time of 2:14.78. She also touched first in the 100 yard backstroke, finishing in 1:01.16.
The Red Flash beat Cleveland State on Saturday by a score of 106-99 in their first meet of the season. The team, which finished second at the NEC championships last year, has recently been picked to finish second again in the NEC Preseason Poll that is voted on by the head coaches. Defending champion Central Connecticut State has been picked to finish first again.
The team will travel to Lewisburg for a meet with both the Bucknell Bison and the Duquesne Dukes on November 1.
