Message from the Vice President of Student Development |
Dear Parent,
Saint Francis University realizes the importance of not only the first year of college, but all of the time spent here. I know especially the first year is a time of excitement, uncertainty, and transition for both you and your child. Your son or daughter is on their own for the first time. I want to assure you that your child will receive the best care possible from our staff throughout all of their years at Saint Francis. We will do our best to see that your child has a positive collegiate experience.
To aid you, we have several resources available:
- The Parents Survival Guide is a handy, quick reference booklet;
- Our new Parent’s Website contains a wealth of helpful links and resources;
- Our “GET FYT” Program (Gaining Experience Together: First-Year Transition) will assist students with becoming integrated and acclimated to Saint Francis University. There will be a series of helpful programs, events, and sessions throughout the fall semester. We ask you to encourage your student to attend. We truly want their transition and time here to be fruitful.
- Finally, we want to enable you, the parents, to become engaged with our Saint Francis community. Throughout the fall semester we will have various Parents “Coffee and Conversation” sessions both on campus and in various locations in our tri-state area. We look forward to speaking with you.
Welcome to our special community “nestled among the pines.” Together we can motivate, inspire, and educate your child. We both want them to learn, grow, and to become productive members of society.
I look forward to meeting you, and working with you.
Sincerely,
Frank C. Montecalvo, Ed.D.
Vice President for Student Development
