Biology Program

Pre-Professional Studies in Biology

preprof

The Pre-Professional Concentration in the Biology Department at Saint Francis University offers a dynamic range of opportunities for students interested in medical, veterinary, dental, pharmacy, and podiatry careers. We prepare students that are highly qualified for these professional programs through individualized advising from experienced and qualified faculty, through a curriculum specifically designed to prepare students for these programs, and through the efforts of our faculty to assist students with internships, shadowing, and undergraduate research opportunities. Graduates of the Biology Department's pre-professional program have successfully completed their graduate education in wide range of professional concentrations within the biomedical science.

We also have a number of affiliations and accelerated programs available for qualified students. These include agreements with:

•Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, Accelerated Program in Primary Care
•Pennsylvania College of Optometry, Accelerated Program in Optometry
•Temple University, Accelerated Program in Dental Medicine
•Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, Accelerated Program in Pharmacy
•Pennsylvania University of Podiatric Medicine, Accelerated Program in Podiatric Medicine
