The Saint Francis University Community Blanketeer group recently collected 74 beautiful quilted, crocheted, knitted, and embroidered blankets that will be distributed to sick and needy children. Formerly known as The Linus Lady Blanketeers, we have been active on campus since 2006, and over the past eight years have donated more than 1,100 blankets to local children in need in Cambria County and surrounding areas. Each year our blanketeers focus on creating comfy, soft blankets for babies and young children.

The Saint Francis group was formed by Dr. Robin L. Cadwallader, Associate Professor of English/ Communications, and Dr. Margaret A. Garcia, Associate Professor of Business/Finance, with the assistance of Ms. Melita O’Donnell, executive assistant. Special thanks to Gamma Sigma Sigma sorority for helping distribute the blankets, Ms. Chris Baughman, Ms. Denise Farabaugh, Ms. Beth Bellock, and Ms. Tammy DeYulis for their assistance.
