Don’t just go to college…participate in it! Saint Francis is one big social network and you’re invited to join in! Outside of the awesome education you will receive here, you will also meet a lot of great people from across the country and around the globe that are interested in what you’re interested in. It all starts with getting involved! Best of all, it’s all about what you would like to do. With a strong and empowered Student Government Association (SGA), the SFU student body is constantly creating new opportunities, new clubs and organizations, and leading new movements that shape their college experience.
Our clubs and organizations cover a wide range of different activities and interests, from academic societies, the arts, club sports and intramurals, to activity and event coordinators, and leadership programs.
Greek Life at Saint Francis University is a historical character and leadership development experience. First established on campus by the Franciscan Friars in the 1940's, Saint Francis University's Greek Life community stands as the oldest Greek system at any Catholic college in the US. Fraternities and Sororities provide endless opportunities for scholastic achievement, leadership development, community service outreach, philanthropic initiative, and life-long fellowship. Greek Life plays a very important part in the development of students and the overall student-life culture at Saint Francis University. The recognized Greek Life organizations represent the very best and brightest student-leaders at Saint Francis University. The SFU Greek Life program seeks to establish integrated learning opportunities that will fully incorporate the core competencies of the F.L.A.S.H. Leadership Initiative.
For the past 5 years (10 consecutive semesters) SFU Greek Life has been ranked among the top 30 institutions in the nation for academic achievement. This achievement is recognized by the Gamma Sigma Alpha National Greek Academic Honor Society (www.gammasigmaalpha.org) who highlights only those Greek communities whose collective GPA eclipses the non-Greek GPA at their respective campuses.
Additionally, within the same time SFU Greek Life has twice been recognized as the top Greek Life community for academic achievement in the continental Northeast (this includes Canada)! That means that twice in the past 5 years, the SFU Greeks have maintained the highest GPA over their respective non-Greek GPA's than any other campus in the continental Northeast...this even includes the Ivy League institutions and their Greeks!
So, as you can see SFU Greek Life certainly has something to be proud of...and if you join, you are among the nation's elite Greek scholars!
