The Director of Graduate Education will get permission from the Superintendent in the school district to set up an information meeting for teachers in your school district and other surrounding districts that are interested in the program. There must be at least 10 students interested in the cohort program for it to begin. Application information will be given to prospective students at the informational meeting.
This type of cohort development enables the students enrolled in the Master of Education program, offered by Saint Francis University, to grow professionally, earn a masters degree, obtain an Instructional II certification, and complete Act 48 credits. All classes in the cohort are offered at one central location, a designated school district building. The courses are also taught by local administrators within the school district. The MED program is a 30 credit requirement which offers one course per semester for 10 semesters. Courses are offered one night a week during each semester. The Graduate Education Department will prepare a schedule of classes through the duration of the program.
