Mr. Dustin Williams
School: Arts & Letters
Academic Department: Communications
Graduation Year: 2014
Before Coming to Saint Francis, I loved to push the limits to see how far I can get things to go. Coming to Saint Francis enhanced and tailored my ability to push those limits higher and farther. The incredible amount of life skills I’ve learned during my years here will be indispensable for many more years to come.
I’m probably one of the hardest people to find a place for because I’m into so many different things and I change my ideas up daily. However, the SFU communications department reacts well, and allows students to do so many things, even I fit in fairly well here.
Outside the department, I powered RED Radio’s reconstruction and transformed a once faulty media source to a widely used campus resource for live and broadcast events. I still have people referring to me as “the guy from the posters,” and I wouldn’t have it any other way. My favorite part of the university is probably the little radio station that I’ve used to shock people for the past four years, and every minute of it was a blast.
All in all, Saint Francis has given me a base to start my future endeavors and go outside the limits to create new opportunities for myself.
The Communications department presented me with the opportunities to work for Central PA Live, and then be hired on to continue my directing work for the show. Saint Francis has allowed me to use all resources available to create and transform my media talents for real world applications, and most importantly and they’ve fostered my crazy ideas along the way. Each professor has their strengths, and they’re all ready to share knowledge, wisdom, and experience with whoever comes their way.
