What is FIRST® LEGO® League?
Children, grades 4-8, are immersed in real-world science and technology challenges. Teams build LEGO-based robots and develop research projects. Through their participation, children develop valuable life skills and discover exciting career possibilities while learning that they can make a positive contribution to society.
For students, it's the hardest fun you'll ever have. For team mentors, coaches, and volunteers, it's the most rewarding adventure you'll ever undertake. For sponsors, it's the most enlightened investment you could ever make.
FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL®) introduces young people, grades 4-8, to the fun and excitement of science and technology while building self-confidence, knowledge, and valuable employment and life skills. FLL challenges kids to think like scientists and engineers. Alongside adult Mentors, FLL teams solve problems using engineering concepts, presentation techniques, and robots.
The FIRST LEGO League Southwest/Central PA Championship date will be announced in the fall of 2013. You can find information about this year's challenge, Nature's Fury, by visiting FIRST LEGO League.
Volunteer information will be available when we open team registration in the fall. Please contact our office if you have any questions prior to team registration.
You may participate as an event sponsor. Sponsoring a FIRST® LEGO® League team or event is a great way for a company, educational institute, philanthropic foundation or an individual to make a contribution to the development of area youth as they explore the worlds of science and technology. Please contact email@example.com with sponsorship questions.
Opportunities to be a part of the program include:
