Minoring in French is a great resume-booster for jobs that require international relations. Knowing a language that is spoken on multiple continents is a very beneficial attribute that allows students to be more versatile in the working world.
Earning a French Minor is easy at St. Francis University thanks to our unique study abroad program. SFU students have the opportunity to study abroad in beautiful Ambialet, France for either a semester in the Fall or Spring, or a month in the Summer. The program has been running strong for 5 years now, and has been enjoyed by a multitude of students.
An active French Club provides additional opportunities to pursue French and Francophone culture in an informal setting.
The study of French can also be incorporated into a program leading to elementary and secondary teaching certification. For teaching certification, consult the program requirements for Education Degrees and Programs. Other employment opportunities are provided upon request by the departmental advisors and the Office of Career Counseling and Placement.
Major: Physician Assistant Science
Minor: French, Philosophy
I've been interested in the French language for as long as I can remember, but choosing to pursue a minor totally changed the tone of my college experience. Not only was I challenged to express myself in a new way, but I had the opportunity to spend one of the best months of my life in Ambialet, France.
