    • Acceptance to one of the university’s graduate programs as a full-time student
    • Departments may have additional requirements
    • Once hired, completion of a Graduate Assistant (GA) contract through Academic Affairs – terms to be determined between the sponsoring department and the Graduate Assistant.
     

    GA Position Opportunities as of 01/02/2015

     

    Saint Francis University invites applications for a Graduate Assistant position in the Career Services Office beginning August 2015. This position will assist with the coordination of Career Services events, programs and services that support the strategic mission and vision of the University in delivering services to students and alumni.

    Responsibilities include: maintain career services presence on social media sites, assist students and alumni with resume creation and critiquing, provide mock interviews, provide workshops and presentations to undergraduate and graduate students including classroom and group presentations on topics such as: career planning, resume writing, job and internship search strategies, interviewing techniques, networking, social media and professionalism in the workplace. Assist in coordinating career fair logistics and marketing and promotion of events. A high level of professionalism,
    communication skills and confidentiality in serving students and employers is essential. Training is provided.

    Qualified candidates must have a bachelor's degree at the time of appointment, minimum 3.0 undergraduate GPA. Preference will be given to candidates who are enrolled as a fulltime graduate student in a Saint Francis University Master program (MBA, MHRM, M.Ed).

    This position, available beginning Fall 2015, is 20 hours per week and includes tuition benefits for 9 credits per semester for fall and spring. *There may be times between semesters in which the GA will be paid an hourly rate once the contract hours are completed and if additional help is needed. The successful candidate will be subject to a background check as a condition of employment.

    Graduate Assistant (GA) - Transportation Assistant

    Saint Francis University is experiencing tremendous growth in both its international and out-of-state undergraduate student populations thus requiring additional transportation services to travel home between semesters, during holiday breaks, and other transportation needs. The Center for Student Engagement invites applications for the position of Transportation Assistant. The Transportation (Graduate) Assistant is directly responsible to the Director of Student Engagement and works to assist in the coordination and execution of various transportation services.

    Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree, excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as a clean driving record, and a valid US Driver's license. Candidates must be comfortable working with diverse populations of students including non-English speaking students and working non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends.

    Graduate Assistant (GA) - Media Assistant

    Saint Francis University is proud of its dynamic and vibrant student life program providing exceptional social and entertainment experiences for its undergraduate population. The Center for Student Engagement invites applications for the position of Media Assistant. The Student Life Media (Graduate) Assistant is directly responsible to the Director of Student Engagement and works to assist in the coordination and execution of various marketing and promotion strategies of student life programming, activities, and other opportunities. 

    Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, communications, or related field, excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as being talented in photography and design. Candidates must be comfortable working non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends.

    Tuition Remission

    Graduate assistants are eligible for full tuition remission for up to 9 credits per semester. Summer varies according to each department. Fees, books and additional credits are the responsibility of the graduate assistant.
