    Looking for a new and exciting way to jump start your exercise routine this summer? The DiSepio Fitness Center is pleased to announce the new Summer schedule for group exercise classes, which will start Monday, June 8th.

     
    The classes that are being offered are as follows:

    • Full-Strength and Cardio Circuit
    • High Intensity Circuit
    • Active Recovery
    • Beginner's Yoga
    • Pilates
    • Zumba with Lisa
    • SilverSneakers Classic
    • SilverSneakers Circuit
    • Insanity

    Pricing for all of these classes can be found in the descriptions below the schedule.  To register for any of the classes that are listed above, please fill out the attached Group Exercise Waiver and Registration Form and return it, as well as the registration fee, if applicable, to the Fitness Center.  You can also mail your registration form to the attention of Melinda Krimmel or drop it off in my office, which is located next to the Fitness Center in DiSepio, room 119.

    Registration is on a first-come first-serve basis in regards to the classes, and registration will run from Monday, June 1st through Friday, June 5th.  Classes will begin on Monday, June 8th and run through Friday, August 7th unless otherwise noted.  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call or email me at 814-472-2783 or mkrimmel@francis.edu.

    Facility Usage

    • If you are new to a class, you are encouraged to introduce yourself to the instructor.
    • At the end of the class, please return all of the equipment you utilized to the proper storage area.
    • We recommend that you bring your own towel and water bottle, as these are not provided at the classes.
    • We encourage all group exercise participants not to arrive late or leave early from a class, since each class includes a warm-up and cool-down. This is to facilitate your body’s preparation and recovery from the exercise that you will be participating in. If you need to leave early from a class, please notify the instructor prior to the start of the class.

    Drop-ins Welcome

    • Individuals who would like to ‘Drop in’ for a Zumba or Turbokick class will be charged $5 per class
    • Registered Participants will receive first priority for the class; Drop-ins will be admitted if space allows
    • All Drop-Ins will need to sign a registration form and waiver prior to participating in class, if space allows

    Express Circuit

    Are you ready to get a full body, high intensity, circuit training workout? If so this is the class for you. It will combine basic strength training exercise with high intensity cardio intervals for a fat blasting, muscular toning workout.
    Cost: No Charge - Members (10 Week Session)                     $40 Non-Members (10 Week Session)

    FULL-Strength and Cardio Circuit

    This circuit class will blend moderate intensity strength training and cardiovascular exercise into a class designed to help individuals create a workout plan that they can stick to.

    High Intensity Circuit

    High Intensity Circuit Training is a method of training that involves combining both cardio and resistance training in the same workout, alternating upper and lower body moves as well as high intensity and lower intensity exercises. The idea is a challenging, total body routine that offers better weight loss results in less time. Join us for an hour of fun and an effective workout!

    Active Recovery

    If you're looking to wind down after a tough week of working out, or something to refresh you for another week, come to Active Recovery.  We will incorporate yoga, stretching, mobility, and core exercises to help boost recovery while still staying active and burning calories. 
    Cost: No Charge - Members (10 Week Session - meets 1x/week)                     $20 Non-Members (10 Week Session)

    Beginner's Yoga

    Whether you are tired from classwork or looking for a mental break in your day, this yoga class will give you the opportunity to both reinvigorate yourself and to relax.  This yoga class is designed for all levels from beginner to advanced yogi.  It does not matter how flexible you are!  This class will explore postures, breathing, and present moment thinking to help you de-stress and carry that feeling into the rest of your week.
    Cost: $15 - Members (5 Week Session - meets 1x/week)                     $35 Non-Members (5 Week Session)

    Pilates

    We all know that any real program designed to make a serious change must go straight to the core!  Mat Pilates classes strengthen and tone all of the body's core muscles through targeted exercises.  Mat Pilates classes challenge the student to focus on specific muscle groups, and, with practice, students will soon build tremendous core strength.  Strong core muscles support the spine, reduce back pain, dd an amzing new depth to yoga practice, and are an integral component of athletic performance as well as everyday balance.  No Pilates experience is necessary, and this class is appropriate for students of all ability levels.

    Cost: $30 - Members (10 Week Session - meets 1x/week)                     $65 Non-Members (10 Week Session)

    Zumba ® with Lisa

    Zumba ® Ready to move fast and have fun and that’s exactly the goal of this class, while potentially burning 500-1000 calories per session. The variety of styles in its routines include cumbia, meringue, salsa, belly dancing, hip hop, and the music selections include both fast and slow rhythms to help tone and sculpt the body.
    Cost: $30 - Members (10 Week Session - meets 1x/week)                     $65 Non-Members (10 Week Session)

    SilverSneakers Classic

    Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a SilverSneakers ball are offered for resistance. A chair is available if needed for seated or standing support. (For ages 65 and above)

    SilverSneakers Circuit

    Combine fun with fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout. Upper body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a SilverSneakers ball is alternated with low-impact aerobic choreography. A chair is used for standing support, stretching, and relaxation exercises. (For ages 65 and above)

    Insanity ®

    Your personal trainer Shaun T will push you past your limits with 10 DVDs packed with cardio and plyometric drills with intervals of strength, power, resistance, and core training. No equipment or weights is needed, and you don't have to be in extreme shape to do it. As long as you're ready to dig deep, Shaun will help you get insane results in just 60 days.

    T25 ®
