Assistant Vice President Project Manager, HSBC USA. I currently work within the Compliance MIS Department helping to support our Compliance Risk team quantify the overall risk environment of the Bank. Gathering data from numerous sources and systems, each month we prepare a scorecard that visually depicts the key risks. Additionally, this data is intended to be forward looking to help Senior Management identify and mitigate risks.
I chose Saint Francis University because of the friendly staff I met on my recruiting visit, and the small class sizes the school had to offer. While studying Finance and Management, I was a four year member of the Division 1 Volleyball team. Looking back, not only do I believe I learned the technical skills to be successful in the Financial Industry, but Franciscan values were instilled in me. In today's environment, these skills are vital in the eyes of Senior Management and the Regulators. I spent three years on the SIFE (now Enactus) team and can't begin the quantify how vitalthese experiences were to my success. SIFE gave me opportunities to connect my education, to the real world.
It is hard to determine what *ONE *thing Saint Francis University offered me that prepared me the most for the real world. From the dedicated staff in both the Athletic Department and the School of Business, to the teams I was a part of, Saint Francis University provided me the tools necessary to generate a real impact at one of the largest Financial Institutions in the world, HSBC. I'm sure that I wouldn't be on the busy streets of Manhattan today if it weren't for my time spent atop the mountain in Loretto, PA.
