There is still time to register for the Summer STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) academies Saint Francis University is offering for current sophomore and junior high school students. The academies are week-long programs for talented students to experience STEM fields in action through exciting educational field and project-based activities. The deadline to apply for the programs is May 3.
Students have the opportunity to earn two college credits upon completion of the program. Participants will work in teams to complete a real world project and present their results. The academies are instructed by Saint Francis faculty and high school students are mentored by experienced Saint Francis student mentors.
Selected students will be provided with room and board and all course supplies and materials. Students with an interest in pursuing a career in a science or technical field are encouraged to attend. The academies include:
- Environmental Engineering Design Academy, June 16-21
- Green Chemistry Academy, June 23-28
- MAD Math Academy, June 23-28
- Gaming Academy, July 7-12.
