    Christine (Roos) Bender '08 and her husband Daniel Bender '08 reconnected with their Saint Francis ties in the Dominican Republic as part of a contingent of medical providers and students volunteering on the Hugs United 2011 mission trip. Christine earned her bachelor of science in health science degree in 2008 and her master of physician assistant science degree in 2009.

    • The DiSepio Institute for Rural Health and Wellness allows you to incorporate research and hands-on practice into your curricula.
    • Integration with the Center of Excellence in Rural and Medically Under-Served Areas (CERMUSA) facilitates research opportunities.
    • The Human Performance Laboratory supports the research function of the DiSepio Institute.
    • Human cadaver anatomy used in the Physical Therapy and Physician Assistant Sciences curricula.
    • High-tech patient simulators are in place for the Nursing program with plans to institute simulation in an interdisciplinary fashion.
