Internships and Networking
Usually during their senior year, each criminal justice major completes an internship as a capstone experience. In the past, students have completed internships with the local police departments, local sheriff departments, SFU campus police, probation departments, victim services, juvenile justice organizations, and among many others, district attorney offices and private attorney offices.
Sociology majors can also earn up to 15 credits for completing an internship during their junior or senior year. Most complete their internships locally.
However, both sociology and criminal justice majors are eligible to participate in our internship program that offers internships in major U.S. cities at prestigious organizations. The Sociology Internship Program provides students with an all-inclusive opportunity to gain valuable career exposure while experiencing both personal & professional growth in a major city and industry of their choice. We provide students with an internship, safe housing with 24/7 support staff, and a meal plan.
Whatever your major or goals, we have internships for you! We have internships at places such as Warner Brothers, Gucci, CBS, NBC, ING Financial, Epitaph Records, Sephora, and Merrill Lynch. To learn more about the program, meet with Dr. Justin Snyder or email him at jsnyder@francis.edu.
