Biography for Tuesday's speaker Jim Reagan:

Jim Reagan was born in 1950 in Elizabeth NJ. He has been working at the New York Catholic Worker's St. Joseph House and writing for the Catholic Worker newspaper for the past eleven years and been living there as a full time member of the volunteer community since January of 2003. Previously he had served as a lay missionary with the Redemptorist Order as Coordinator of Social Justice and Peace Ministry. His first exposure to the Catholic Worker came in 1969 when, on a public high school class trip, he met Dorothy Day and heard her speak. He subsequently volunteered there briefly as well as being active in anti-war, anti-racism, and labor organizing. More recently, his activism has centered around housing issues and immigration issues which he began working on in 1976. Mr. Reagan spent twenty-three years in Albuquerque NM where he was primarily employed in various aspects of the music business, most prominently serving as President and director of the NM Jazz Workshop, assistant director of the Outpost Performance Space and as a music journalist.
