About Dr. Kristofer Wisniewski

Biography

Dr. W has been teaching at Saint Francis since 2012. He has a wealth of practical and teaching experience. Through the Human Performance Lab, he supervises students who conduct health and fitness testing of the public.  He also supervises students in the Evergreen Exercise Clinic, which involves exercise interventions in cancer survivors to help them regain their health and physical function following a cancer diagnosis. He specializes in using physical activity/exercise and lifestyle behavior change in the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of several chronic diseases, specifically heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. He has a number of published works, and regularly presents, along with his students, at regional and national conferences. Dr. W is also a faculty advisor for the student-led Campus Crusade for Christ (Cru) at SFU.

 

Professionally, Dr. W is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and the Mid-Atlantic Regional Chapter of the ACSM. He is an ACSM Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist (RCEP), ACSM/American Cancer Society Certified Cancer Exercise Trainer (ACSM/ACS-CET), holds the Exercise is Medicine level III credential (EIM 3), and is a National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA CSCS).  He is also a peer reviewer for various journals in the field of Exercise Physiology.
