Rural telehealth and advanced technologues conference to be held on March 9

Saint Francis University’s Center of Excellence for Remote and Medically Under-Served Areas (CERMUSA) will hold a Rural Telehealth and Advanced Technologies Conference on Friday, March 9 from 8:00 a.m. until 4:15 p.m. on the campus of Saint Francis University in Loretto. The event is open to the public and may be of particular interest to primary care providers, multi-disciplinary teams of clinical educators and clinicians, and academic professionals and administrative personnel working in the healthcare field. Registration is required and conference attendees can earn continuing education units.

The focus of this conference will be 2012 Updates for Healthcare Providers. Conference attendees will have the opportunity to attend seven educational sessions and engage in dialogue with subject matter experts regarding obstacles and challenges to healthcare in rural practice settings. Information on current research, skills, and treatments for the management of healthcare such as patient education, management skills, interprofessionalism in healthcare teams, telemedicine, end of life care, and back injury prevention for healthcare providers will be discussed.
