Saint Francis fraternity to hold polar bear swim to raise money for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital

February 10, 2012

Saint Francis University’s Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) fraternity will be participating in their sixth annual Polar Bear Swim on Friday, February 17, to raise money for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. At least 20 of the fraternity’s members will be braving the cold and jumping into Lake Saint Francis, located on the Loretto campus behind Christian Hall, at 4:00 p.m.

Tau Kappa Epsilon brothers will also be selling Polar Bear Swim shirts for $10 before and during the swim to raise additional money to donate to St. Jude’s.

St. Jude’s was founded by Danny Thomas, a TKE alumnus. All TKE chapters have pledged to raise at least 1 million dollars together in the next five years for St. Jude's. The proceeds will aid in the addition of a wing to the hospital.
