The center set to open in 2013. Read about the construction progress so far.
Everyone can see the changes to the exterior of our new science building with new brick being installed daily! While the exterior brickwork is ongoing, the contractors are focusing on completing the roof and completing the air barrier sealer. The roof has been completed over the office wing and penthouse of the building but has yet to be completed in the lab wing. Some of you may have noticed that the skylight over the atrium was installed (and looks great!). The skylight will be a great feature in our building.
The blue you see in the photo above is an air barrier sealer over the previously yellow foamboard. This will ensure an energy efficient structure. Once the roof and exterior sealant are completed, the contracting effort will move to the interior with windows to be installed in early December (but you can see that the frames are being completed). With that said, work is going on inside every day as the plumbers, electricians, and HVAC people are building the strong bones of the new Science Hall!
