Eighteenth Annual Science Day

The Eighteenth Annual Science Day was held on Tuesday, November 22, 2011, the last full class day before the Thanksgiving break. A total of 418 students and 34 teachers represented 23 schools including Altoona Area, Bishop Carroll, Bishop Guilfoyle, Bishop McCort, Blacklick Valley, Cambria Heights, Central Cambria, Conemaugh Valley, DuBois Area, DuBois Central Catholic, Forest Hills, Glendale, Greater Johnstown, Hollidaysburg Area, Homer-Center, Juniata Valley, Ligonier Valley, Northern Bedford County, Northern Cambria, Penn Cambria, Saint Mary's Area, Somerset Area, and Windber. The day was similar to other years, with high school students attending three different 45-minute presentations in the morning, at 9:30, 10:35, and 11:40 in classrooms on campus. Sixteen teams were in the JFK Student Center at the same time competing in a single elimination science bowl with DuBois Area Beta as the runner up and Altoona Area Alpha taking home the trophy
