November 7, 2012
Saint Francis will host a screening of the award winning film "Where the Water Meets the Sky" in the JFK Auditorium on Wednesday November 7, at 7pm. This free event is open to the public.
Narrated by Morgan Freeman, "Where the Water Meets the Sky" is the story of a remarkable group of women in a remote region of northern Zambia, who are given a unique opportunity: to learn how to make a film, as a way to speak out about their lives and to challenge the local traditions which have, until now, kept them silent.
Immediately following the film the audience is invited to the JFK lounge for a graphical presentation of the Millennium Development Goals in 2012, dessert and discussion. A free will offering for CAMFED (Campaign for Female Education) will be collected. The event is sponsored by the University's general education and mathematics departments, and by Theta Phi Alpha sorority.
