Dr. William Duryea OFS
School: Arts & Letters
Bill is a Professor Emeritus at Saint Francis University, with forty years of teaching experience. His initial appointment with the Biology Department at Saint Francis gave him the opportunity to teach and mentor students interested in careers in life science and medicine. Later in his career at the University, he completed training as a physician assistant and joined the Department of Physician Assistant Sciences where he remained until his retirement.
His experiences in higher education have been firmly grounded in the Franciscan tradition, starting with his undergraduate period at Siena College, continuing with his graduate work at St. Bonaventure University, and ending with his tenure at Saint Francis University. He cherishes his opportunities to travel in the footsteps of Brother Francis and Sister Clare, through his work in organizing trips to Assisi for pilgrimage groups, and his great love for literature relating to the lives of Francis and Clare. Bill is a member of the Saint Bonaventure Fraternity, Secular Franciscan Order, located on the campus of Saint Francis University in Loretto, PA.
