    These workshops cover the basic information needed to start a business such as business and marketing plans, financing, types of organizations, and rules and regulations.

    Offered at various locations throughout the Southern Alleghenies region, the workshop lasts approximately 2 hours.  Pre-registration is required at least two business days in advance.

    Workshops are subject to rescheduling due to enrollment; in this event, every effort will be made to contact you in advance. The normal $15.00 fee is being waived by the SBDC due to donations from AmeriServ Financial.     Cyber Security in a Post... Ongoing... Whatever COVID World is a multipart series that will cover everything you need to know about keeping your organization (and your customers' data) secure in a world that has shifted from brick-and-mortar to online.

    Part 1 of this series focuses on the key cyber security elements that every business should implement, whether you’re working from the office or from home. In a world where small businesses rushed to go virtual without fully considering the cyber risks, your business can’t afford to miss this series.

    We will cover simple steps for cyber security, as well as more in-depth topics, such as how to take online payments securely, how you should (and shouldn’t) store your customers’ data, and what to do when (not if) you’ve been hacked.
