C.A.R.E. Clinic
Our Mission
C.A.R.E. stands for Community Access Rehabilitation for Everyone. We are a student-run pro bono physical therapy clinic for under-served individuals in the community. Students in the physical therapy graduate program at Saint Francis University, along with guidance and oversight from physical therapy faculty, work as a team to provide individualized care for each patient. The clinic emulates the Franciscan mission and goals that serve as guiding principles for our community. Students are provided the opportunity to enhance their skills as practitioners, managers, and leaders in the community.
Who Qualifies?
- The C.A.R.E. Clinic is open to patients who are either uninsured or underinsured.
- Individuals who do not have physical therapy benefits or those who have exhausted their number of visits for the calendar year may also be eligible.
- Individuals who fall below a previously established income threshold.
Our Locations
Individuals may participate in one of two locations:
- East Gate Hall, 212 Saint Joseph Street, Loretto, PA 15940
- Curry Innovation Center, 1425 11th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16601
How to Get Started

2. Clinic staff will work with you to review your financial information to ensure you qualify for our free services.
3. Schedule an appointment at either clinic location for your initial physical therapy appointment.
4. Begin your optimal recovery with clinic staff!
