Art 300 Class hosts VIP Day to work on mural
SFU's Fine Arts and Education Departments have partnered with the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art to create the mural under the guidance of Deb Bunnell, a talented muralist from Hollidaysburg.
Students worked together to develop a unique theme combining a framework of equity, inclusion, and diversity with subjects that capture areas of study in the schools of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) and Health Sciences and Education.
These photos are from the Art 300 class taught by assistant professor of visual arts, Jessica Campbell working on the mural. The class hosted a "VIP Day" inviting Fr. Malachi Van Tassell, T.O.R, SFU President; Dr. Michael McGinnis, Vice President for Academic Affairs; and Dr. Pete Skoner, Dean of the School of STEAM to help with the painting.
When the students finish the mural, the University will install it near the education classrooms rooms on the first floor of Scotus.
