Student tradition: As a new class enters Saint Francis University, incoming students gather around the campus bell tower for a ceremony that marks the beginning of their university careers. A short four years later, seniors gather to listen to the bells signify the successful conclusion of their college careers. Tradition maintained: For the seniors in the Class of 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic made gathering at the bell tower physically impossible. Yet University President Fr. The Biology and Chemistry departments were delighted to virtually welcome back 2011 Biology/Biochemistry alumna Dr. Caitlin Brown on May 5. In a Google Hangout, Dr. Brown spoke about her career path from SFU to Thomas Jefferson University for her Pharm.D. degree, then to two different clinical residencies, and to her current role serving patients at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN during the COVID-19 pandemic. Thanks to Saint Francis University's military-friendly options , Sarah was able to graduate from the top Nursing program in the nation and become a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army through IUP's elite ROTC Warrior Battalion program . Chapter for National Honor Society in Neuroscience Approved

Saint Francis University was recently approved to shelter a chapter of Nu Rho Psi , the National Honor Society in Neuroscience. The chapter will be the ninety-first charter to have been granted since the National Neuroscience Honor Society was established in 2006, and the eleventh in Pennsylvania. The Saint Francis University chapter designation is “Kappa in Pennsylvania (k in PA).” Nu Rho Psi is a non-profit, grass-roots organization comprised of faculty and undergraduate neuroscientists. Saint Francis University is pleased to announce the appointment of Eric Sepich as the Director of Ambialet, the University’s flagship study abroad program, held in the village of Ambialet in southwestern France. Sepich is no stranger to Saint Francis University or Ambialet; he is an alumnus and a member of one of the earliest student groups to travel to the University’s facility in Ambialet where he fell in love with the quaint village. SFU Greek Life Inducts 13 into Honor Societies 2019

On Sunday, April 7, Saint Francis University welcomed 13 students into our Greek Life Honor Societies. These societies are nationally recognized as Gamma Sigma Alpha and the Order of Omega, and are exclusive to only those who meet a specified criteria and are affiliated with a Greek-lettered organization. Gamma Sigma Alpha was founded at the University of Southern California by Beth K. Saul of Alpha Epsilon Phi and the Assistant Director of Greek Life at the University at that time. On November 9, 1989 Gamma Sigma Alpha was established on their campus as a local Greek academic honor society
