Remembering Anne Crusan ’73

The Saint Francis University theatre community lost one of its brightest stars in Anne Crusan ’73 when she recently passed away on August 26, 2018. Anne had a huge presence in the theater department during her time at SFU. After graduation, Anne pursued an acting career in New York City and New Jersey before returning to Pennsylvania to continue her craft. After graduation, Physician Assistant student, Rebecca Phillips, did what most students do after commencement. She posed for pictures, went out to eat with family, and celebrated with her friends. In high school, Ryan maintained a 4.2 grade point average and took thirteen Advanced Placement tests earning him enough credits to take on a triple major at SFU and still graduate within four years. In the town of Sabana Grande, a small agricultural based community in Nicaragua, the most common method for sanitation is pit latrines. Basically, it’s an outhouse over a hole dug in the ground. When full, the hole is simply covered and a new hole is dug. Meet Dr. Michael Cosh ‘95, a 2017 winner of an Arthur S. Flemming Award , a national award given to federal government employees who are committed to public service. Using satellites to improve soil moisture measurements, Cosh’s research allows for better crop yield, and wildfire projections, as well as improvements in predicting weather. As a Research Hydrologist, Dr. Cosh is a major contributor to NASA’s Soil Moisture Active Passive Mission and ESA’s Soil Moisture Ocean Salinity mission. His research led to a data set for the verification of an essential climate variable. The application of
