Saint Francis University invites you to an inspiring evening celebrating the life and leadership of Frances Hesselbein, one of the most influential thought leaders of our time.

A Legacy of Leadership and Service 

Frances Hesselbein, a Johnstown native, dedicated her life to transformational leadership,  diversity, and service. As CEO of Girl Scouts of the USA (1976–1990), she modernized the organization, paving the way for future generations of women leaders. 

Her influence extended far beyond the Girl Scouts—she collaborated with management expert  Peter Drucker, authored 27 books on leadership, and served on two Presidential  Commissions on National and Community Service. Recognized for her groundbreaking contributions, Hesselbein received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor in the United States. 

A Special Screening & Panel Discussion 

To honor her extraordinary impact, Saint Francis University will host a screening of the documentary Defining Moments: The Life and Leadership of Quiet Revolutionary Frances  Hesselbein. This powerful film explores her journey and enduring legacy. 

Following the screening, a distinguished panel of leadership experts will discuss Hesselbein’s influence and the importance of values-based leadership in today’s world.
