SFU President Named Among 2025 Top 100 People by Pennsylvania Business Central

Saint Francis University President Fr. Malachi Van Tassell, T.O.R., has been recognized as one of Pennsylvania Business Central’s “Top 100 People” for 2025. The annual list recognizes regional leaders “who dream big, expand opportunities, and excel.”

Van Tassell first appeared on the publication’s Top 100 list in 2015, shortly after his inauguration as University President. Now, in 2025, he is honored once again as he enters the second decade of his presidency at Saint Francis University.

Under his leadership, the university nears completion of its second strategic plan, Francis 2026: Thy Will Be Done. In May 2025, the University will graduate its first cohort in the Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership and Innovation. Most recently, the University opened the Aviation Education Center, home of the aviation maintenance technician program, at the Johnstown Airport.

Saint Francis University boasts of its amazing job success rate, with 99% of graduates obtaining employment in their profession of choice or a seat in a graduate school within six months of graduation.
