Saint Francis University student, Elise Dumouchelle of Ashburn, Virginia , gained valuable experience during a 6-week Congressional internship this summer in the Washington, DC office of Congressman Bill Shuster. Dumouchelle, who is a triple major in International Studies , Political Science, and Spanish , is the recipient of the 2017 Ann Eppard Memorial Scholarship and Congressional Internship . Saint Francis University’s Class of 2017 Nursing graduates, who earned their Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing this past May, have already gone on to pass National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN). The Nursing Department received word this month that all 15 of the new graduates had passed the exam on their first try. 70-Year-Old Stage 4 Cancer Survivor to Cycle 10 States for Charity

On September 8, 2017, 70-year-old Brother Shamus McGrenra T.O.R., a stage 4 colon cancer survivor, will tackle his toughest route in the history of the annual #GoBroShamus Charity Bike Ride . The journey will begin in Bar Harbor, Maine and cover roughly 1,000 miles of mountainous terrain, taking Bro. Shamus through 10 states and several major cities before coming to an end in Jamestown, Virginia. Bro. Students from Saint Francis University helped give people in need something to smile about last weekend. MOM-n-PA Dental Missions hosted their 5th annual clinic this year at Gannon University in Erie, PA on June 17th and 18th. The MOM-n-PA mission is a two-day large scale dental clinic where dental treatment is provided at no cost to individuals who cannot afford dental care. Over 700 dental, medical and pharmacy professionals, students and lay volunteers freely donated their time to help at MOM-n-PA 2017. The two-day clinic provided dental care to nearly 1,000 patients. Saint Francis University star Lorenzo Jerome has been signed to the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent. Lorenzo is set to become the first Red Flash player to play in the NFL since Joe Restic (Philadelphia Eagles) in 1952. “We have an agreement on a three-year deal,” Lorenzo told the Tribune Democrat .
