Ann Eppard Memorial Scholarship for Women in Leadership

Samantha Gorman, History and Political Science

The Ann Eppard Memorial Scholarship for Women in Leadership is open to all female Saint Francis University students with preference given to those enrolled in the History, Political Science, or Pre-Law programs or serving in the Student Government Association.

The scholarship will be awarded based on future professional and leadership potential, as demonstrated by the quality of the essay submitted in support of the scholarship application. We will also be looking for candidates who can demonstrate a proven track record of success (educational and professional) on application form and performance during the interview. The finalist will be awarded a $5,000 stipend that can be used to help defray educational expenses.

You must submit a completed scholarship application form, essay, resume, and transcript. The essay should be a maximum of 500 words and address the following questions:

· What encouraged you to apply for this scholarship?

· In what ways have you demonstrated leadership?

· What do you hope to achieve in the future through your leadership skills?

The Ann Eppard Memorial Scholarship for Women in Leadership is annually awarded. Scholarship application forms will be available beginning in early October in the main office of the History and Political Science Department located in Room 316, Scotus Hall. All materials must be submitted to the Department by 4:00 PM on the last Tuesday in October. Scholarships will be awarded prior to the start of the spring semester.
