  • About Phi Delta Epsilon

On March 17, 1917, five courageous women attending New York University School of Law could not find a membership accepting of all backgrounds. So they formed Delta Phi Epsilon with the purpose of accepting all races and religions–one of the first non-sectarian, social sororities to do so.

Today, Delta Phi Epsilon heads into our Centennial year. Since our founding nearly 100 years ago, we have grown into a thriving organization with over 67,000 initiated members and chapters located across the United States and Canada.

"To promote good fellowship among the women students among the various colleges in the country...to create a secret society composed of these women based upon their good moral character, regardless of nationality or creed..."

Attending law school when you don’t have basic voting rights is a bold move. Our Founders were bold, courageous students who challenged the status quo and did not let society define their future. They were forward-thinking women who saw beyond what sorority was and knew what it could be.

Today, our Sorority stays true to our founding. Sisters find more than a home or friendship in DPhiE. We find empowerment to live authentic and purposeful lives.

  • About Phi Lambda Psi

Phi Lambda Psi Sorority is a locally-governed leadership and academic sorority. Founded in 1978 and re-founded in 2008, Phi Lambda Psi is the second-oldest sorority at Saint Francis University. Perceiving a national and campus-wide lack of social sororities that also sponsored strong morals and values, the founders of Phi Lambda Psi set out to create the type of organization that they were looking for. These founding sisters crafted Phi Lambda Psi Sorority to be a haven for strong, independent, unique women. The vision of Phi Lambda Psi has always been to bolster an accepting, supportive community that encourages creativity, individuality, and, most importantly, friendships that will last a lifetime.

The fundamental purpose of Phi Lambda Psi is to build trust, belonging and friendship among all college peers, especially women, while fostering the qualities of leadership and scholarship in all members. The “Lammies” support autism awareness by putting on several events throughout the year and working with Dreams Go On, a therapeutic horseback riding camp for individuals with special needs. Phi Lambda Psi is committed to developing and empowering the next generation of women leaders, as evidenced in their motto: “Elegance through Leadership.”

Founded by twenty-one women in January 2006, Omega Zeta Nu is proud to be a part of Greek Life at Saint Francis University. Omega Zeta Nu is a locally-governed academic sorority, founded on the principles of wisdom, integrity, and courage. Our sisters also enjoy leadership opportunities, philanthropy work, and social ties within Greek Life and the greater university community. Members of Omega Zeta Nu seek simplicity and authenticity in their sisterhood.

Zeta sisters proudly serve the Central PA Humane Society, Four Footed Friends, the Circle of Sisterhood, and other on- and off-campus organizations. They plan to graduate and serve the community as engineers, environmentalists, social workers, and in the health-care field. Zeta sisters embrace the things that set us apart, and they build their sisterhood on the motto of: “Individually Different, Collectively Unique.”
