Andrew Collier Profile
Fulfilling dreams in politics
Meet Andrew Collier, a 2011 graduate of the history and political science programs at Saint Francis University.
Andrew studied both history and political science while at Saint Francis and was quite the go-getter.
Andrew was the Executive Vice President of the Student Government Association, a Psi Upsilon Fraternity brother, and Best Buddies Midnight Madness Director of Recruitment and Relations. In addition, Andrew completed two internships in Washington, DC, through the Washington Internship Institute. He interned for the National Federation of Federal Employees in summer 2010. He also interned for Senator Tom Harkin's Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee in the Labor and Pensions Policy Office of the United States Senate in the spring 2011.
His study of history and political science, his co-curricular experience leadership experiences on campus, and his internship experiences helped him land his first job out of college as the Political & Legislative Advocacy Coordinator at the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees in Cincinnati, OH. Andrew then went on to enter the field of campaigns & elections, serving as a campaign manager for Mark Smith’s 2014 campaign for Pennsylvania Lieutenant Government, a Political Associate at Gumbinner & Davies Communications, and a Junior Accountant and Marketing Manager at The Campaign Workshop.
Andrew is currently a Senior Account Executive at Resonance Campaigns in Washington, DC, a political communications firm for progressive political organizations.
Andrew proves that at Saint Francis University our majors reach higher and go farther:
“The best feature of my education has been actually getting involved in student government. There is no better feeling than seeing students happy when you announce different proposals you are pushing for or have successfully completed. I would have to say my most exciting experience was actually receiving my internship in DC. Working for a labor union has been my dream, as well as living in DC. That was the best summer of my life.”
And, now living and working in DC fulltime, we are sure Andrew would say his dreams are coming true.
