100% of SFU Nursing Grads Pass Licensure Exam

Saint Francis University’s Class of 2017 Nursing graduates, who earned their Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing this past May, have already gone on to pass National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN). The Nursing Department received word this month that all 15 of the new graduates had passed the exam on their first try. Three PNGE students receive SPE Pittsburgh Scholarships

The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Pittsburgh section has awarded $30,000 in scholarships every year for the last five years. 12 outstanding students from Penn State University, Pittsburgh University and Saint Francis University who show great promise in and dedication to the petroleum engineering profession and related fields in the oil and gas industry are chosen for the scholarship. Allison Rohrs receives Energy Leadership Award

Allison Rohrs, director for the Institute for Energy at Saint Francis University, recently received the Women in Energy Leadership Award by the Pittsburgh Business Times . Rohrs was one of 26 women in the region to receive the 2016 award. The honorees were selected by a panel of industry experts and honored at an event and in a special edition of the Pittsburgh Business Times in October. Rohrs has served as the director for the Institute for Energy at Saint Francis for nearly four years. Tori Martin, a fourth-year Master of Occupational Therapy student, was awarded the prestigious Ann Eppard Scholarship and congressional internship presented at the Presidents Awards Convocation on April 26. Tori is currently completing her internship in the office of U.S. House Representative Bill Shuster R-PA 9th district on Capitol Hill. Tori has so far learned the ins-and-outs of the voting process, met many staff and legislators, and is now trained to provide tours to visitors to the Hill. ENACTUS Wins Regional Competition 2016

The Saint Francis University chapter of ENACTUS won the title “Regional Champions” in the ENACTUS Regional Competition held in Washington, D.C. on March 29. Competing against 50 other colleges and universities from the Northeast Region, the ENACTUS team presented the results of educational outreach projects which were completed during the academic year to a panel of 12 business professionals. The ENACTUS students impressed the judges with a dynamic, oral, multi-media presentation that demonstrated how the team was able to educate various target audiences including high school students, college
