The Financial Aid Process
Below are the steps to apply for financial aid for graduate students and adult learners.

Next Steps for the Division of Professional Studies
Step 1: Apply for SFU enrollment in your chosen DPS Program.
Step 2: File the current FAFSA Form on studentaid.gov
- This will allow you to access any Federal Direct Loan or Pell Grant eligibility
- If you have a current FAFSA on file, simply add SFU as your number one school choice.
Step 3: Check nslds.ed.gov to view any previously borrowed Federal Loans or Pell Grants awards.
Step 4: Apply (and check any remaining eligibility for PA StateGrant via pheaa.org.
Federal Loans: If you plan to use your Federal Direct Loan eligibility, also complete a Master Promissory Note and Entrance Counseling on studentaid.gov.
Private Loans: If you plan to use a private lender loan visit elmselect.com to apply.
Other Aid: Any applicable tuition discounts/scholarships are awarded through individual DPS program departments.
