This past athletic season has been deemed historic at Saint Francis University. For the first time in Red Flash history, all five Fall teams competed in Northeast Conference (NEC) postseason play after their respective 2022 season with one team clinching an NEC championship title.

Saint Francis Wins Fourth-Consecutive NEC Tournament Championship

The Saint Francis softball team won its fourth-consecutive NEC Tournament Championship with a 12-4 win in five innings against LIU (27-8, 25-7 NEC) on Saturday. The win earned the Red Flash earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament Regional. The team (40-8, 22-2 NEC) was selected to travel to No. 12 Texas (39-11, 12-6 Big 12) This will be Saint Francis' fourth appearance in the NCAA Tournament, previously traveling to Arizona in 2017 and 2018 and Michigan in 2019.
SFU to Compete Virtually in Special Olympics Unified Sports® National Championship

During the week of April 12-16, 2021, Saint Francis University will participate as one of more than 30 teams from across the country in the first ever Special Olympics Unified Sports® Virtual College Championship Week. The teams will compete across a series of 15 challenges that require team members to connect with each other and spread a message of inclusion through social media. In the news: With less than 50 days until the election, Saint Francis University red-shirt sophomore Ty Stewart is working to get his fellow classmates signed up to vote. On top of classes and the Red Flash back to practice, Stewart has been going around campus urging people to sign up to vote at AllintoVote.org, a non partisan voting campaign. Redshirt senior Isaiah Blackmon (Charlotte, N.C./West Charlotte) was named the third Northeast Conference Player of the Year in program history on Tuesday, joining Mike Iuzollino (1990-91) and Keith Braxton (Glassboro, N.J./Delsea) (2018-19) before him. Saint Francis women's tennis alum Steph Miller has had a service-minded attitude for much of her life. She developed and cultivated that mindset as a team captain for the Red Flash and now has the opportunity to share her gifts with the world. Miller, who graduated in the Spring of 2019 with a major in International Human Rights (pre-law) and Spanish with a minor in International Business, has accepted a role working in youth development with the Peace Corps and will spend the next two years serving in Costa Rica.
